For the first time in franchise history, a set of brothers suited up for the St. John’s IceCaps. Michael McCarron was joined by his brother, John, in the lineup on Wednesday night.
Sylvain Lefebrve did the proper thing in putting the brothers McCarron in the starting lineup.

Unfortunately for the IceCaps, the magical moment didn’t end in a happily ever after.
The younger McCarron (Mike) opened the scoring early in the second period, putting the IceCaps ahead 1-0. Josiah Didier and Chris Terry picked up the assists on the goal. With that assist, Terry extended his point streak to nine games (dating back before his call-up to the Montreal Canadiens). Over those nine games, he has six goals and 10 assists.

Within five minutes, the Comets had not only tied the game, but taken a 2-1 lead.
Wacey Hamilton and Borna Rendulic scored less than 60 seconds apart, giving the visitors the lead heading into the second intermission.
With Bobby Farnham in the box serving a slashing and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty tacked on when he argued it, Utica added to their lead just 18 seconds into the third period. Cody Kunyk’s shot beat Yann Danis for his fifth of the season.
The IceCaps picked up some steam late in the third, partially due to this hit by Chris Terry.

They fired 15 shots at the Comets’ goal during the final frame, but Richard Bachman, who was stellar throughout the game, turned away everything he saw, preserving the 3-1 lead.
