Monday Habs Links: Pacioretty, Galchenyuk and Gallagher are on fire

Montreal Canadiens Links

  • The line of Max Pacioretty, Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher are on absolute fire. The trio have combined for 16 points in five games since coming together. This is exactly what the Habs need ahead of a difficult five game road trip. [Canadiens]
  • We’ve seen it time and time again: Max Pacioretty appearing to suffer an injury, leaving the game and stoping hearts throughout the entire Habs world. However, we’re quickly learning that no injury can keep him out of the lineup. [Gazette]
  • This is a little older, but it’s definitely worth a re-post ahead of the World Juniors. Habs prospects Zachary Fucale and Nikita Scherbak get patriotic as they go head-to-head in an episode of the Duel. [Canadiens]
  • A white actor used blackface to portray P.K. Subban in a Montreal play. This is beyond messed up. It’s 2014, and this ignorance needs to stop. Our own Andrew Berkshire has his take on the issue. [EOTP]

Around the League and Elsewhere

  • In case you missed it, vintage Alex Ovechkin came to play over the weekend; scoring a ridiculously filthy ‘goal of the year’ candidate. Welcome back, Ovie! [NHL]
  • A very scary incident in Vancouver on Saturday night. Forward Jannik Hansen appeared to collapse on the bench. Thankfully, Hansen is okay and “should play” on Monday. [Sportsnet]
  • A great story out of Philadelphia as 33-year-old journeyman Rob Zepp made his NHL debut in goal for the Flyers on Sunday. [Puck Daddy]
  • Puck Daddy continues their 2014 year in review. Check out the top 10 shootout goals of the year, headlined by John Tavares, Jonathan Huberdeau and Jason Spezza. [Puck Daddy]
  • After James Neal was fined $2,000 by the NHL for diving, the league has issued a warning to 22 players as they continue their crackdown heading into 2015. [Sportsnet]
