Canadiens vs. Lightning third period thread

Max Pacioretty isn’t letting Alex Galchenyuk win the team scoring race without a fight. Pacioretty unloaded a screened wrister as he powered towards the Lightning net and beat Vasilevsky low blocker side for his 29th of the season.

The Habs went on the powerplay a couple of minutes later and put on a passing clinic, ending with Alex Galchenyuk’s 30th goal after Max Pacioretty had the puck roll of his stick at the side of the net and to Galcneyuk who was in position to unload a rocket one-timer to reach the milestone for the first time in his career.

Galchenyuk – 22 years old, and 57 days – is the 3rd-youngest player to hit 30 goals in a season for the Habs behind Geoffrion and Richer.

The Habs lead 4-0 heading into the third period and are poised to sweep the season series with the Lightning for the third time in four years.
