Canadiens vs. Sabres second period thread

The Habs had started to lay the first blocks of their game-plan when Marcus Foligno broke in on Mike Condon and scored on the Sabres‘ first shot of the game.

The quick-strike by the Sabres didn’t deter the Habs, who continued to pursue an elusive and well-earned goal. The Habs led 9-2 in shots on net by the midway of the first period, and were starting to stir things up in front of Robin Lehner. The Sabres began to respond, finally getting some shots through on Ben Scrivens who ended up with ten recorded saves by the end of the first period.

It hasn’t exactly been a captivating game so far. The Canadiens are showing flashes, but are taking a lot of hopeful shots that are not giving Lenher or the Sabres defense a lot of trouble controlling.

The Habs trail 1-0 heading into the second period.
