Canadiens vs. Coyotes second period thread

The Habs avoided not getting scored on in the first two minutes of the game for the first time in four games, but they did allow their opponent to score first for the fifth game in a row. Previously, the Habs had only allowed the first goal three times in fifteen games. The Habs are 3-2-2 when their opponent scores first.

The Habs went down 2-0, with Mike Condon unable to control the rebound on a routine shot on the rush, allowing Shane Doan to net the rebound for his fifth goal of the year. The Coyotes insane shooting percentage is continuing to live on. The Coyotes were third in the league before the start of tonight’s game with a team shooting percentage of 8.96%. With tonight’s first the period in the books their percentage has increased to 9.39%, as the Coyotes scored twice on five shots in the first period.

Both Torrey Mitchell and Devante Smith-Pelly saw time on the second line alongside Alex Galchenyuk and Lars Eller.
