Shea Weber to undergo foot surgery, out for the rest of the season

Yesterday it was announced that Shea Weber would see a specialist for his foot injury, and today the worst was confirmed: Weber will be out the rest of the season and will undergo surgery on his left foot.

It is believed that Weber suffered the injury in the first game of the season in Buffalo against the Sabres when he took a shot off his foot.

Despite that, Weber continued to play. He played in 26 games this season, scoring six goals and adding 10 assists.

Weber missed his first game November 9 against the Minnesota Wild, but he returned for four games and then was out again for six more. He returned once again for six games but has been out since after the Centennial Classic in Ottawa. He has missed the last 26 games.

Despite the nagging injury, the least he played in any game this season was 21:09 against Toronto on November 18, which just happened to be before he missed six games.

Weber has apparently seen multiple specialists, according to Darren Dreger.
