The Canadiens have assigned goaltender Cayden Primeau to the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

Primeau has a 12-7-2 record with the Rocket with a 2.70 goals against average and .899 save percentage. He is 1-1 in the NHL with a 2.52 GAA and .931 save percentage.
This means that Carey Price is healthy, and because Primeau was an emergency recall, he was sent back to the American Hockey League. It remains to be seen what this means for the Laval Rocket, who host the Utica Comets tonight at Place Bell.
Primeau could start on Wednesday after travelling back and forth from New Jersey yesterday, or they could turn to Michael McNiven, recently recalled from the ECHL or Keith Kinkaid.
It’s a crowded crease in Laval, but the only certainty is that Price will start on Thursday when the Canadiens take on the Anaheim Ducks.
Charlie Lindgren allowed four goals and earned his first win of the season against the Devils.
