The Montreal Canadiens’ current draft pick board after the NHL Draft Lottery

Now that the NHL Draft Lottery has determined the teams that will make the first three selections in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, the Montreal Canadiens know where they will be selecting on June 22. They’ll move up from fourth to third after hitting on one of the combinations they held in the third and final draft lottery of the night.

Things aren’t quite set for what promises to be a busy day on Saturday, June 23, with the Canadiens currently in possession of nine picks for the rapid-fire second day of the draft. The following table shows the picks the Habs hold, with the selection positions added for those that are set in stone.

Montreal knows the position for the picks assigned to teams that didn’t make the post-season, but there’s still some variability in those acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, and Winnipeg Jets. The next positions to be determined will be for those eliminated ahead of the conference championships.

You can see this table anytime, along with details of all the acquired selections as well as a history of draft picks dating back to 2005, and the players and prospects currently in the Canadiens system in our organizational depth chart.
