Riley Barber placed on waivers by Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have placed Riley Barber on waivers.

Barber’s exposure to the waiver wire was essentially announced last night as he was the only eligible player in the list of four cut after Monday’s game. He had spent his first professional years in the Washington Capitals organization before becoming a free agent on July 1.

Canadiens assign Jake Evans, Josh Brook, and Alex Belzile to Laval

There are now 35 players left at training camp, with Paul Byron, Noah Juulsen, Michael McCarron, and Ryan Poehling among those who could still be out with injury when the season begins.

The Laval Rocket’s training camp is currently underway and play their first pre-season game on Saturday at home. The Canadiens have a game in Toronto on Wednesday, and we should expect more cuts to come after that game.

The pre-season ends on Saturday with a home game against the Ottawa Senators before the annual team building trip ahead of their season opener on October 3.
