Jake Allen gets the start versus the Colorado Avalanche tonight (not playing on Saturday as I had originally thought would be the case), and it will need to be a strong one versus a quality team. He saw how well the Habs played for Samuel Montembeault in the defensive end on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers, and will expect the same when he’s between the pipes.
There have been no indications of lineup changes for the game, and Martin St-Louis probably has no desire to make any after seeing the team hold the Oilers to two goals in about 65 minutes of action. First and foremost, he’ll want the focus to be on defence once again, though he wouldn’t mind seeing some offence at the other end as well. Tying up his most skilled players in a power-versus-power matchup, it will need to be the members of the bottom nine who give the Habs the edge.
