Montreal Canadiens send Charlie Lindgren to Laval

The Montreal Canadiens sent Charlie Lindgren to the Laval Rocket this morning.

The goaltender started on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, allowing four goals but playing well despite of the team in front of him.

Lindgren is 4-8-2 this season with a 3.03 GAA and a .908 save percentage. He is 8-14-1 with a .318 GAA and .891 save percentage in the AHL with the Laval Rocket but in both cases the statistics belie the way he has played due to the teams in front of him.

There is no roster limit after the trade deadline, but since Lindgren was an emergency recall he had to be sent down as soon as Price was ready to play.

With the Canadiens playing tonight, it means that Carey Price is ready to play. Price, who has been out since suffering a concussion on February 20th, was in the starter’s net at the team’s morning skate, but he will be the backup tonight.

The Canadiens are hosting the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre.
