The home team has won each of the three games played between the Canadiens and Bruins this season, so the Habs are hoping that means they can earn the season split in the final game at the Bell Centre before heading off on a five-game road trip out west.
They don’t need to return the favour of a 9-4 score, but what they do need is to start the game well and be prepared for the Bruins to do the same. It takes a 60-minute effort (or longer) to beat a team that has amassed 91 points already, and there shouldn’t be any concern about the Habs not being engaged for this game after comments following yesterday’s practice about seeking revenge for the recent loss.
Jordan Harris will replace Jayden Struble for tonight’s game, and Colin White is back from his injury to shift Rafaël Harvey-Pinard back to the wing and bump Michael Pezzetta from the lineup. The play of the fourth line has been one reason why the Habs have been able to play good teams so tightly, and the same will need to be true in this game.
