Just before puck drop in Detroit, Marc Bergevin pulled the trigger on a minor league move, shipping Michael McCarron to the Nashville Predators for Laurent Dauphin.

It has been a frustrating, inconsistent half a decade of professional hockey for McCarron in the Montreal Canadiens organization. Injuries, poor development, and inconsistent production on the ice marked a lot of McCarron’s time in the AHL where he never quite managed to find the form from his rookie season.
Since returning from injury this season McCarron had five goals and nine assists in 29 games, while adding 50 penalty minutes, and a two game suspension for a blindside hit on Brendan Gaunce.
Dauphin comes right from the Predators AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals where he has played 33 games with seven goals, nine assists and eight penalty minutes. The Quebec native was originally drafted in 2013 as a member of the Coyotes, and is a former teammate of current Rocket All-Star Charles Hudon.
