With the Montreal Canadiens’ Stanley Cup dreams coming to a quick end, Michael McCarron was returned to the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League. McCarron appeared in only one post season game, a 3-1 loss in Game 6, where he recorded no points while playing on the fourth line with Steve Ott and Dwight King.

In 31 games for the Canadiens this year McCarron had 1 goal and 4 assists in addition to 41 penalty minutes. In 32 games in the AHL earlier this year he notched 7 goals and 12 assists with 66 penalty minutes.
The addition of McCarron to the IceCaps line up would be a huge boon, given his penalty killing talent and ability to chip is solid offensive numbers. McCarron will join the team in Syracuse where they will finish their first-round series against the Crunch, starting with Game 3 on Wednesday.
