Lukas Vejdemo Named To Sweden’s Preliminary World Juniors Roster

Lukas Vejdemo was worried about not making the squad fro Team Sweden for the World Junior Championships so you can imagine how it must have felt when he heard that he was included in the preliminary squad. The roster currently has two extra forwards in it, so it will need to be trimmed before the tournament.

In 23 games in the SHL, Vejdemo has three goals and seven assists for a total of 10 points which is respectable for a teenager in a professional league. His skill as both centre and winger should be to his benefit when the squad is finalised just before Christmas.

Vejdemo has really found his play in the SHL recently and he should be in the final squad in my humble opinion.

Other notable includes were both brothers Alexander and William Nylander, Adrian Kempe and of course Axel Holmström who broke the Daniel and Henrik Sedin SHL record (shared obviously) for points in the playoffs by a junior player last season. For a bit of more local flair, Dmytro Timashov (Quebec Remparts) was included and spoken highly of by the Swedish coach Rikard Grönborg.
