In what is just about the ideal play for a defenceman, Jeff Petry broke up the play in his own end, followed the rush up the ice, saw his opportunity to jump up to get involved in the offence, and then ripped a shot from right near the hashmarks to give the Canadiens a 3-1 lead to begin the third period.
