Jarred Tinordi Follows Louis Leblanc’s Footsteps, Jumps From NCAA to Canadian Junior

Three different websites (98.5, QMI, Steven Hindle are reporting that Habs first round pick in the 2010 Entry Draft, Jarred Tinordi, has agreed to join the OHL’s London Knights. Official confirmation is still pending.

Tinordi, who was scheduled to play for the University of Notre Dame next season, was captain of the U.S. under 18 club last season. He did not make the cut for the junior U-20 club for this years upcoming WJC in Buffalo, New York. It is likely that his targets were reset based on that disappointment.

If reports prove true, Tinordi will be jumping into the great junior program of the London Knights, no strangers to helping develop character NHL players over the last decade. The decision mirrors that of Habs 2009 first round pick Louis Leblanc, who last week passed on a second season with the Harvard Crimson in an effort to get more game played under his belt with the Montreal Juniors of the QMJHL.

The decisions of both players should go a long way in accentuating their prospective NHL careers.
