Jarred Tinordi assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs

Apparently Mike Weaver’s virus that kept him out of Wednesday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres was nothing serious, because this morning Jarred Tinordi has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL temporarily.

In all likelihood, this is the same situation for Tinordi as it was for Nathan Beaulieu and Michael Bournival when they were sent down, and he already knows that he’ll be back up in Montreal by next weeks.

Tinordi has had a fantastic start to the season, but his last few games he has been struggling quite a bit, and Beaulieu has taken over the sixth defenseman spot with some fantastic performances, including leading all Canadiens defensemen in possession two of the past three games.

Tinordi will likely play in a back-to-back set for the Bulldogs on Friday and Saturday against the Adirondack Flames in Hamilton, logging big minutes.

It’s unknown as of yet whether the Canadiens will call up a forward due to the injury to Michael Bournival, but considering Rene Bourque and Travis Moen are available, it isn’t expected.
