Jacob de la Rose and Michael Bournival set to return from injury

It’s been a rough sophomore season for Jacob de la Rose, after spending most of last year in the NHL he was demoted to the AHL to start the season.

Many figured with his strong effort he would be the Canadiens top c when the injury bug struck.

However, he got off to a slow start, which shouldn’t have been a concern, but it was clear that something was off in his game this season. This slow start was compounded when he suffered an injury crashing into the end boards on November 7th, since then he has been sitting on the injured list. His injury was serious enough that he did not travel with the team on recent road trips, staying behind in St. John’s for treatment.

With just two assists on the year de la Rose has nowhere to go but up in terms of production, and he’ll be relied upon to do so with the long list of NHL call ups recently.

In other news, Michael Bournival will make his return to hockey on Friday night for the IceCaps, after a long road, battling concussion symptoms.
