Hamilton Bulldogs Game Thread: Bulldogs @ Heat

The struggling Hamilton Bulldogs are in Abbotsford tonight, thousands of kilometers from home.

It’ll be a bare bones game thread tonight as our Bulldogs guys are busy and I’m about to head out to do some important shopping, but we’ll note the important stuff for you.

The Bulldogs did not skate in lines this morning at practice, so we don’t know what big changes are in store for the forward lines or defense pairings.

What we do know is that Robert Mayer will be starting today, in the first half of a back-to-back with Abbotsford. It seems that Lefebvre is hesitant to overtax Cedrick Desjardins after just returning from injury, although with the big gap in games played, and coming off of a poor performance, it would be nice to see Cedrick the entertainer between the pipes tonight.

Louis Leblanc returns to the lineup after missing the last game for undisclosed reasons.

Mike Commodore will be making his debut with the Bulldogs tonight, but sadly he will not be wearing #64.

Also debuting with the Bulldogs tonight is Stephane Chaput, who got the call up above Olivier Fortier for some reason. Chaput has 3 goals and 6 asssists in 15 ECHL games, so don’t expect him to be a huge factor. Fortier has 8 goals and 9 assists in 18 games by the way.

The extra bodies mean that one of Brendan Nash or Antoine Corbin are likely to be in the pressbox, along with both of Alexander Avtsin and Kyle Hagel. Or Maybe Lefebvre will smarten up and take out Zack Stortini and Hagel at the same time. Tune in to find out.

Game time is 7:00PM PST, which means it doesn’t get started until 10:00PM EST. Late night for the kids.
