Hamilton Bulldogs Game Thread: Bulldogs @ Heat

Once again the Bulldogs are in Abbotsford to take on the Heat. After yesterday’s disappointing 5-1 loss the Dogs’ will be looking to get back on track. The Heat are a formidable opponent, they have yet to lose in regulation at home this season, and only have 3 regulation losses on the road (one by the hands of the Bulldogs).

For the Dogs to get a win, a few things are going to need to happen. Here are a few keys to the game.

Cedrick Desjardins will have to be sharp. Desjardins is 2-1 this season after returning for injury. He was pulled in his last start but he will need to perform well for the Bulldogs to get the win.

The Bulldogs need to score first. They’ve gone 15 straight games giving up the first goal, and they need to start to play with the lead instead of trailing. I think Lefebvre’s coaching style is better suited playing with the lead anyway (who’s isn’t really?).

Notes:

Brendon Nash is back in the lineup. Replacing Joe Stejskal.

Michael Bournival is out of the lineup due to illness. Joonas Nattinen will draw in to replace him.

Abbotsford Heat Lineup Not Announced. But it looks like Barry Brust will get the night off, Danny Taylor will start for the Heat. He is 3rd in the AHL in GAA and Save Percentage. Other than that, it doesn’t look like the lineup will change from yesterday.

Game time is 7:00PM PST, which means it doesn’t get started until 10:00PM EST. Late night for the kids.
