Habs Weekend Wrap Up

Just a few things to wrap up your week on the Habs front before we jump back into the Top 25 Under 25 tomorrow.

First off congrats to Carey Price and Angela Webber, who announced their engagement this past week. Word stahrted to spread on Thursday, Price’s birthday. The Habs netminder made it official Sunday on his Twitter account.

In the meantime, Trevor Timmins, the guy who had a lot to do with Price and the likes of Max Pacioretty, P.K. Subban and Alexei Emelin being drafted by the Habs, got a well deserved contract extension this past week. Timmins, who orchestrated a gem of a 2012 Entry Draft for the Canadiens, spoke to CJAD’s Abe Hefter on Saturday still on duty watching the Ivan Hlinka tournament in the Czech Republic.

The Habs also strengthened their homegrown scouting, by bringing on former Hab Donald Audette as a scout for Quebec. There had been talks of Audette joiing the club, in some capacity, earlier this summer when coaching vacancies were still available.

They then added former NHLer Mark Mowers as a pro scout in the Eastern Conference. Mowers played 278 NHL games, with the Predators, Red Wings, Ducks and Bruins, before finishing his career in Switzerland.
