December 19th, 2011: David Desharnais sets Erik Cole up for a shot as they enter the Bruins zone, but Zdeno Chara blocks it and Boston gains possession. Max Pacioretty blocks a clearing attempt and the puck goes back to Desharnais, who shoots the puck off of Cole and in. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.

December 27th, 2011: Cole fails to capitalize on a nice pass from Desharnais in front of the net, but the puck ends up on the stick of Tomas Plekanec, who sends it up to P.K. Subban on the point. Subban fakes a shot, then passes back to Plekanec, who centers it to Cole who tips it in for a powerplay goal. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.

December 29th, 2011: Pacioretty recovers a dump in to the right corner in the Lightning zone and quickly feeds a streaking Cole in the slot who snaps it home. This goal was a team effort off the rush.

December 31st, 2011: Yannick Weber knocks the puck up the boards to clear the zone and it’s picked up by Erik Cole, who barrels down the right wing past several Panthers before putting a backhander on net that fools Scott Clemmensen. This goal was an individual effort off the rush.

January 7th, 2012: Pacioretty sends a cross ice pass to Desharnais at the blueline after Josh Gorges prevented an off man rush. Desharnais tries to feed Cole but the pass is blocked, but on his second try he gets it through and Cole gets an easy tap in. This goal was a team effort off the rush.

January 20th, 2012: Tomas Kaberle takes advantage of a Penguins turnover and springs Cole in transition, who feeds Andrei Kostitsyn for a shot that’s stopped. The rebound is there for Cole though, and he puts it in the net. This goal was a team effort off the rush.

January 25th, 2012: Cole breaks into the Red Wings zone and almost evades a check, but is thrown off enough to stop him from getting a good scoring opportunity. He takes the puck behind the net and reverses it to Lars Eller, who tries a backhand that deflects right to Cole for an easy tap in. This goal was a team effort off the rush.

February 11th, 2012: Cole takes the puck from the Canadiens‘ defensive zone all the way up the ice to the Maple Leafs zone and breaks through several Leafs to drive the middle of the ice and fires a wrist shot past James Reimer for a goal. This goal was an individual effort off the rush.

February 13th, 2012: Cole has the puck along the half wall on the powerplay and he draws a couple Hurricanes towards him and out of position. Cole then drives the net out of nowhere and rips a shot past Cam Ward. This goal was an individual effort on a zone play.

February 15th, 2012: Cole intercepts a Chara pass in the Bruins zone, quickly dekes out Tim Thomas and puts home a backhander. This goal was an individual effort on a zone play.

March 3rd, 2012: Pacioretty gains the Leafs zone and circles around up high in a very Gomezian move, then fires a long shot on net. Desharnais takes a wack at the rebound that causes the puck to go to an uncovered Cole on the other side, who scores. This goal was a team effort on a zone play.

March 10th, 2012: Cole breaks into the Canucks zone and takes a shot that’s blocked by Alexander Edler, but the rebound comes right back onto Cole’s stick, and he beats Roberto Luongo with a backhand. This goal was an individual play off the rush.

Tomorrow we break down Cole’s 25th to 35th goals and make some conclusions about his goalscoring.
