Former Habs defenseman Chris Chelios inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame

Former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Chris Chelios is one of three former players to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame this year.

After scoring 302 points in 402 games in a Canadiens uniform, Chelios was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in a notoriously awful trade for Denis Savard. Chelios went on to play 1,651 regular season games, scoring 948 points, along with 266 playoff games and another 144 points.

A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Olympic silver medalist, and three-time Norris Trophy winner, Chelios was the last Canadiens defenseman to win the Norris before P.K. Subban won it this year.

The symbol of longevity in the modern NHL, Chelios played parts of 26 seasons in the NHL.
