Choose your 2016-17 Montreal Canadiens opening night roster

With 61 players invited to the main roster training camp there is a lot of competition for various spots in the line-up, however only 23 players can make the opening night roster.

Everyone has an opinion of who should have their place on the roster, so we’re turning turning towards our community to gauge their thoughts on the various battles at camp this year.

For the backup job, Mike Condon is at serious risk of losing his spot to either newcomer veteran Al Montoya or shining new rookie Charlie Lindgren, who continues to look fantastic.

On defence, the first five spots are pretty much secured by Shea Weber, Andrei Markov, Jeff Petry, Nathan Beaulieu, and Alexei Emelin. That would leave the battle for the sixth spot, as well the extra skaters, down to a hand-full of hopefuls.

Michel Therrien declared that his top six will consist of Max Pacioretty, Alex Galchenyuk, Brendan Gallagher, Andrew Shaw, Tomas Plekanec, and Alex Radulov. That leaves six spots open for the opening night line-up, plus one spot for the 13th forward. Who will it be?

Let us know your thoughts below, and we will release the results before the regular season kicks off.
