Catching the Torch: February 24 to March 2nd

The Three Stars

1. Jérémy Grégoire

As the QMJHL regular season reaches the end, Jérémy Grégoire seems quite intent on making sure he and the Baie-Comeau Drakkar enter the playoffs on a high note. He would begin the week with his first career 4-point game, scoring a goal and three assists to lead a 6-1 rout of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. He would mark a goal and assist in the following game as the Drakkar took a 4-1 victory over the Sherbrooke Phoenix. He would finish the week scoring a pair of goals and an assist in a 5-1 victory over the Victoriaville Tigres. With this past week, Grégoire has now scored more goals (34) than he had points last season (32) and is 2nd on the Drakkar in team scoring. Jérémy Grégoire was drafted in the 6th round, 176th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.

2. Greg Pateryn

While the Hamilton Bulldogs battle for consistency, Greg Pateryn continues to be one of their most reliable players as the team’s leading source of offence from the blue line. Pateryn would start his week marking a goal in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Lake Erie Monsters. He would pick up an assist in the next game in a 5-2 decision over the Toronto Marlies. Pateryn has now doubled his points production from last season while playing only nine more games. Greg Pateryn was drafted in the 5th round, 128th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2008 NHL Draft and was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens as part of the trade that sent Mikhail Grabovski to Toronto.

3. Tim Bozon

One of the most productive Canadiens prospects since the start of 2014, Tim Bozon has been on a torrid goal scoring pace with the Kootenay Ice that has not let up in two months. He would score a pair of goals to help power a 5-1 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors. He would add a goal and assist in a 4-2 victory over the Saskatoon Blades. Bozon has now scored 20 goals in his last 23 games. Tim Bozon was drafted in the 3rd round, 64th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Draft.
