The Canadiens are in an interesting predicament.

After early-season success, the club has struggled through the month of November, unable to gain any kind of momentum of late. They’ve won only one out their last seven matchups, despite having some games that they should have easily won.

There are some positives, however, to the last stretch for the Canadiens, including Shea Weber’s impressive return, with two goals and an assist to his name already, as well as the gradual turn in Carey Price’s game, looking more confident than we saw him to begin the season.

Tonight, they welcome a team they currently run neck-and-neck with in the Atlantic Division standings, and one they’ll play three times over the next 12 days, including another match up this Thursday. The Ottawa Senators, a team that has also surprised many, has gone through similar ups and downs. The Senators did win the previous matchup between these two teams, a 4-3 game decided in overtime.

An interesting decision to keep notable Senators killer Charles Hudon out of the lineup tonight might be a choice that makes or breaks Montreal’s chances, but with the Canadiens forced to play some of their best hockey against their Ontario rivals, it should be a very interesting contest tonight.
