Canadiens vs. Kings: Game thread, rosters, lines, and how to watch

The Montreal Canadiens have gotten off to a poor start this season. A loss last night in San Jose on the first game of the California trip has dropped their record to 1-4-1, placing them among the teams at the bottom of the standings.

The Habs will be looking to turn their season-opening slide around in tonight’s games versus the Los Angeles Kings.

Leading the charge on that front may be Jonathan Drouin, who has put together back-to-back two-point efforts, with two goals in as many games. It may be no coincidence that the mini points streak coincides with having Artturi Lehkonen join his line after the Finn was part of a stellar trio alongside Tomas Plekanec and Charles Hudon in the first few games of the season. Max Pacioretty has been publicly stating his displeasure with his own game in recent days, so you should expect all members of that line to be buzzing tonight.

On defence, with the news that David Schlemko will be out for about another month, the current corps knows it will be up to them to figure things out. Al Montoya will be backing them up in his first start of the season.
