With 24 games left in the regular season, Montreal will head to Philadelphia to try to stifle the Flyers’ playoff hopes.
Some good news is in order for the Canadiens, as Phillip Danault may be back in action tonight, seeing how he was practising alongside Alex Galchenyuk and Charles Hudon.
This provides a boost for the Canadiens, though they did have to send Nikita Scherbak back to Laval. Andrew Shaw is another potential returnee in the lineup, and may force the team into another move today.
Despite not being in the playoffs, the Canadiens could cause some havoc tonight within the Metropolitan Division standings, as Philadelphia currently sits in third place in the group. The New Jersey Devils are tied with the Flyers, and could benefit from a Canadiens win, as could the Carolina Hurricanes.

With both Brian Elliott and Michal Neuvirth bothdown due with injury, the team needed to add a goaltender for their playoff push, and opted to add Petr Mrazek from the Detroit Red Wings.
Despite this, the Flyers remain one of the top offensive threats in the NHL, anchored by their captain, Claude Giroux, and premier setup man, Jakub Voracek. With 69 and 65 points, respectively, they are returning to the form that made them one of the NHL’s deadliest duos just a few seasons ago.
There have been some surprises in the Flyers’ roster this season apart from Giroux and Voracek however, as Sean Couturier has become the third threat on this roster, scoring 29 goals and 30 assists so far.
The Flyers have a chance to make the post-season, but are hanging by a thread from the final division spot. A win against the Canadiens would increase their chances for the post-season, and they do have the edge this season, having won the previous meeting between these two teams on February 8.
