Canadiens vs. Blue Jackets: Game thread, rosters, lines and how to watch

After getting blown out in Sunrise, the Habs rolled into Tampa Bay and once again put forth a great effort against the NHL’s best side. Antti Niemi held the Lightning off once again, and Charles Hudon set up a pair of goals, but the team couldn’t secure a second point in the shootout. So after collecting points in seven straight games, Montreal has dropped all three of their games last week, earning a point in just one of them.

On the other hand, the Blue Jackets are flying high having won their last four games against San Jose, Vegas, Colorado and Detroit. Led by their all-world goalie in Sergei Bobrovsky, and youthful stars on defence in Zach Werenski and Seth Jones, the Blue Jackets are hanging around the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. They sit one point behind the Devils for the top wild card spot, and trail the Flyers for third place in an extremely crowded Metropolitan Division.

So for Montreal they have the chance to trip up a team looking to secure their post season spot, something that won’t come easily against a very physical team like Columbus. While it’s not likely to be on the level of Carey Price vs Bobrovsky, Antti Niemi and Charlie Lindgren have both been up to the task for the Habs this year, and will need to be again on Monday night.
