Canadiens vs. Blue Jackets Game Thread, roster, lines, and how to watch

It’s a very confusing time to be a Habs fan.

The Canadiens lost again last night, after a promising win in Toronto on Saturday, and this time to a team that sits in the literal last place in the NHL standings, a place the Canadiens could themselves soon realistically occupy.

It’s confusing, because while all of this is happening, we’re being told that this is the right path to take, and that there is nothing that can be done to right the ship at this time. It’s as if we’re caught in a storm of our own making, but it isn’t by the making of the fans, certainly not, by but forces and decisions we have no control over, no say in according to this team’s general manager.

This will be the Canadiens’ final game before the All-Star break and 50th game of the season. The Habs will be chasing their 25th win tonight, and just their fourth win for the month of January. If the Habs win tonight they will be 4-6-2 for the month of January, a step up from December when they went 3-11-0.

The Canadiens do not resume action after tonight until next Tuesday night in Philadelphia, before a four-game homestand in which they will face three teams that are currently lower in the standings than they are.

The puck drops at 7:30 PM EST.
