As part of today’s earlier news of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Jordan Harris both being set to miss significant time, the Canadiens had mentioned they’d be recalling another body from the Laval Rocket. We now know who they’ve chosen to join them on their road trip, and it is none other than Mattias Norlinder.

Through 14 games with the Rocket this season, Norlinder has two points, one goal and one assist. His departure will leave a pretty significant hole on the Rocket’s blue line, as he was one of the more experienced professional defenders of the group. He’ll join the Habs on the road, but there is no word yet on whether he’ll be in the lineup tomorrow night.

His is perhaps not the name that most were expecting to hear, but he’ll be getting a shot to show whether his strong pre-season was more than a fluke.
