Player of the Week: Tim Bozon
Tim Bozon has picked up the pace of late in his comeback season with the Kootenay Ice. He started the week with his first three-point game of the season, scoring a goal and two assists in a 7-3 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers. He repeated the feat in his next game, marking two goals and an assist in a 5-1 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. He missed the scoresheet in his next game, a 3-0 shutout of the Medicine Hat Tigers. He completed his week picking up an assist in a 7-3 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors. He is currently pacing for a 34-goal, 74-point season which is notable given he missed the first fifteen games on the WHL schedule.

Daniel Audette: It was a respectable week for the Sherbrooke Phoenix winger. Audette would star for Team QMJHL in their 1st game vs Team Russia in the Subway Super Series, scoring the game-winning goal along with an assist in a 3-1 win for the QMJHL team. He went without a point in the next game, a 3-2 loss to Team Russia. He picked up an assist in his only QMJHL game of the week, a 4-2 loss to the Quebec Remparts. With 30 points in 22 games this year, Audette is currently pacing for a 93-point season.
Jeremy Gregoire: Gregoire continues to sit on the injured reserve list due to wrist surgery dating back to late October, he is not projected to play again until likely the middle of December.
Michael McCarron: McCarron finished his two-game suspension this past week, which he was assessed for leaving the bench to fight during a game the previous Saturday. McCarron returned to action for a single game with the London Knights where he went without a point in an 8-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires. This broke a goal-scoring streak for McCarron who had 7 goals in his previous four games.
Brett Lernout: There was a surprise jump in Lernout’s scoring numbers this week with the Swift Current Broncos. After going without a point in a 5-0 shutout of the Wheat Kings and failing to register a point in a 6-2 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders, Lernout broke out in his final game. He scored his first career hat trick in a 8-7 overtime win over the Saskatoon Blades, doubling his goal numbers on the season. He leads all defencemen on Swift Current in scoring with 6 goals and 9 assists.
Nikolas Koberstein: Koberstein failed to find the scoresheet once more with the Sioux Falls Stampede in his only game of the week, a 4-1 loss to the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He has only 1 point in 17 games this season.
Nikita Scherbak: Scherbak contines to produce at a consistent clip with the Everett Silvertips this season. He started the week marking an assist on Everett’s only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Victoria Royals. He picked up an assist in his next game, an eventual 3-2 shootout win for Everett over Seattle but unfortunately suffered an injury halfway through the game. On a play that was deemed accidental, Scherbak was checked into the boards by a Seattle player and went down for several minutes before being taken off the ice on a stretcher. After head and neck trauma were ruled out and no structural damage was found after examination, it was believed Scherbak has suffered a bruised back. There is no estimation on how long he will be out of action.
Josiah Didier: It continues to be an unremarkable season for the University of Denver blueliner. Didier went without a point as Denver routed Air Force 7-0 and failed to record a point in the next game, a 3-2 win over the University of Wisconsin. Didier has no goals and only 1 assist through 11 games this season.
Jake Evans: Evans continues to have a steady rookie year with the University of Notre Dame. He recorded no pointss in his first game of the week versus University of Massachusetts Lowell, a 3-1 loss. He did mark an assist in a 2-2 tie in a rematch with Massachusetts Lowell. He leads all freshmen on Notre Dame with 8 points in 14 games.
Mark MacMillan: It was a quiet week for the University of North Dakota senior. MacMillan picked up an assist on the only North Dakota goal in a 3-1 loss to St Cloud State University and went without a point in the following night’s rematch, a 3-2 win for North Dakota.
Zachary Fucale: Fucale continues to set career benchmarks as a QMJHL goaltender. He emerged as the MVP of Team QMJHL’s first game versus Team Russia in the Subway Super Series, he stopped 40 of 41 shots on the way to a 3-1 win over Russia. He helped maintain a steady outcome for Halifax in his first QMJHL game of the week, stopping 23 of 25 shots in an 8-2 win over Rimouski Oceanic. He gave up 3 goals on 18 shots versus the Moncton Wildcats to end his week in a 4-3 victory for Halifax. His two QMJHL wins this past week also raised him to tie 2nd overall in QMJHL history for career wins. He finished the week with a .929 save percentage.
Hayden Hawkey: Hawkey continues to show steps towards firming up his early season struggles with the Omaha Lancers, stopping 21 of 22 shots in a 4-1 win over the Lincoln Stars in his only start of the week.
The European report:
The SHL is the top professional men’s league in Sweden and is at a comparable level to the AHL. Strong play here can often give indications that the player is moving towards being capable of playing in the NHL.
The Extraliga is the top professional men’s league in the Czech Republic, while it is not at the level of the SHL, it is still a competitive pro league where solid production would give credence to a player’s NHL potential.

Artturi Lehkonen: It has become a quiet stretch for Artturi Lehkonen of late in the SHL for Frolunda HC. He went without a point in a 3-2 victory over Linkopings HC and a 4-3 win over HV 71. He gained no points in regulation, but scored a shootout goal in a 5-4 win over Djurgardens IF in his final game of the week. Lehkonen has no points in his last four games now and has no goals in his last 15 games. He is currently 5th in scoring among players under 20 in the SHL.
Joonas Nattinen: It continues to be a lacklustre season for Joonas Nattinen in the SHL with MODO Hockey. He went without a point in all three games this past week, a 5-3 loss to Vaxjo Lakers HC, a 2-0 shutout loss to Linkoping HC and a 4-1 loss to Skelleftea AIK. Nattinen is pointless in his last 10 games and has only 1 goal and 3 assists in 23 games this season.
Martin Reway: Reway continues to pace for a very productive season in the Extraliga with Sparta Praha. He started the week picking up an assist in a 2-1 loss to HC Kometa Brno. He marked a goal and assist in his next game, a 6-3 win over HC Liberec. He finished the week off picking up another assist in a 4-2 win over HC Pardubice. Reway is tied for 3rd overall in scoring on his team with 3 goals, 13 assists and is the scoring leader among players under 20 in the Extraliga.
