Canadiens lines at practice: Galchenyuk returns to top line in Julien’s debut

After the most eventful bye week in NHL history, the Montreal Canadiens took to the ice in Brossard this afternoon.

It was Claude Julien’s first practice, and many were eager to see what would happen.

And all of those people in attendance had to wait.

The Canadiens had a full squad on the ice after their week off.

And, in his first major decision as Habs coach, Julien is putting Alex Galchenyuk back on the first line with Max Pacioretty and Alexander Radulov.

Brendan Gallagher found Tomas Plekanec and Paul Byron while Phillip Danault will centre Artturi Lehkonen and Andrew Shaw.

David Desharnais was the extra forward.

On defence, he reunited Andrei Markov and Jeff Petry, while Greg Pateryn was the extra defenceman. Nikita Nesterov skated with Nathan Beaulieu.

He also kept Shea Weber and Alexei Emelin together.

The Canadiens will play tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. when they host the Winnipeg Jets at the Bell Centre.
