Canadiens @ Golden Knights Top Six Minutes: Phillip Danault ties it, Paul Byron wins it
A great offensive showing results in a second straight win.
For our new readers and members, the Top Six Minutes is a continuation of the discussion in the game thread. We try to keep it light and entertaining. Full recaps are up the morning after every game.
Pre-Game
- It has been all EOTP today, three articles written and coffee in Gothenburg, Sweden with Pat from England who is a long time EOTP fan. /
First Period
- The Tuna with some wiggle room and gets a good shot off, 20 secs in and we are off to a good start!
- PRICE!!!!!
- Phillip Danault with a wicked shot! 1-0 Les Glorieux!
- Lehkonen brought down having split the defence, I guess we should be happy there wasn’t an embellishment call there on the Finn.
- Marc Andre Flurry, that 20 second sequence was just crazy, then he lost his helmet.
- Cross checking Byron with a referee two meters away, lets see some Montreal power kill!!
- The power play really didn’t get going until Kotkaniemi started to run it.
- Brandon Pirri.... and we have a tied game. /
Second Period
- Some Jonathan Marchessault scores and its 2-1 the bad guys.
- All the speed Montreal played with in the first period seems to be gone now.
- Phillip Danault!!! Tips in a long distance shot, but it will be reviewed.
- Call stands! Tied game!
- Strong shift from the Lehkonen-Kotkaniemi-Shaw line, I’d prefer to have Kotkaniemi in the Gretzky position rather than Lehkonen though.
- Line change and a blown coverage by Benn gives Pirri a highway to Price. 3-2 VGK.
- Lord Byron misses the open net on a Petry shot/pass.
- Weber to the box. /
Third Period
- Can Montreal stop playing hockey just of the bench?
- Montreal to the power play, can we please start with Kotkaniemi?
- This power play is as entertaining as watching paint dry.
- Petry to the sin bin, hold on to your buts.
- Now lets try to get into the zone five on five.
- Price pulled with 2:09 to go. Almost directly it looks shaky.
- TIED GAME DANAULT WITH THE HAT TRICK!!!!/
Overtime
- Lord Byron with the winner! Good Guys wins in Vegas!/
