Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty were both shaken up in the first, getting hit by hard shots, but both returned without missing a shift.

Alexei Emelin took advantage of Luke Schenn screening his own goalie and tipping a shot right into the net to put the Habs up 1-0.

Davis Drewiske had an extremely solid start to his Habs career with several solid zone clearances, one which led to a golden chance for Lars Eller, who's having a game tonight. Eller lead both teams with 4 shot attempts in the first period, and actually got some powerplay time for once.

Speaking of the powerplay, can we get Bouillon off of it yet?
