New Jersey is now outshooting Montreal 15-13, with an 8-5 margin in shots on goal in a typical Montreal 2nd period. Penalties that were preventable were committed, and the Habs even got a break from the refs on the New Jersey penalties which were really not much of anything. Carey Price made a nice save early in the period on a 2 on 1, and then got help from the goal post later on a 2 on 1 off a Kovalchuk wrister. The Habs might want to watch out for this guy.
Lars Eller hit the crossbar on the powerplay later in the period as well, but not much positive out of that period overall. Eller is probably the Habs most consistently dangerous forward tonight along with Pacioretty.
Andrei Markov has taken the icetime lead for the Canadiens at 15:46. Subban is joined by Eller and Max Pacioretty with three shots a piece for the team lead. Bryce Salvador continues to lead the Devils in icetime tonight at 15:43, while fellow defenseman Marek Zidlicky leads them in shots with three.
The entire fourth line looks like it’s getting sat after the White penalty.
