What a whacky schedule four days off and then three games in four nights. The first of those three is tonight against the Buffalo Sabres on the road in New York State.
Drayson Bowman and Nathan Beaulieu have been sent down, the latter against all logic. Eric Tangradi, the prize in the Peter Budaj sweepstakes, has been called up. Michael Bournival is still unavailable. Tangradi will skate on the right side of Weise and Malhotra.
In another display of questionable logic Tom Gilbert will be scratched tonight. Obviously with this many defensemen (especially of this vintage), someone has to sit, but I presumed it would be one of the leaky-suit brigade (Gonchar or Allen) that might be benched not 31 year old Tom Gilbert.
For the Sabres Tyler Myers comes back, Josh Gorges is still out, and Andre Benoit will sit.
The Habs start Carey Price while the Sabres go with Jhonas Enroth in net.
