Canadiens vs Avalanche third period thread

Aside from a two minute penalty kill spent almost entirely in the defensive zone, it was pretty much all Habs for most of the second period. Reto Berra stood tall against the Canadiens attack, until Max Pacioretty was able to fool him with an absolute bullet of a wrister to even the score at one apiece. A sad defensive breakdown permitted Gabriel Landeskog to retake the lead for the Avalanche shortly thereafter. This marked the end of Carey Price’s night in goal, as he was subsequently replaced by Peter Budaj.

A late-period two man advantage for the Habs brought a familiar sight to the Bell Centre; the P.K. Subban one-timer. Subban absolutely crushed one past Berra to even the score at two apiece, much to the delight of the home crowd as they would begin chanting his name. Much like Tuesday night’s tilt against the Bruins, this one will be decided in the third and final frame.
