Artturi Lehkonen lights it up, Sebastian Collberg in a primary role

As you can see from the video above, Artturi Lehkonen had a heck of a game today for Finland, playing on the top line with top end prospect Teuvo Teravainen. Lehkonen has been 18 for just under a month, and having that spot with Teravainen has Lehkonen poised for a huge tournament.

Among Lehkonen’s three goals was the tying marker with just 10 second left in the 3rd period to send the game to overtime, where Finland managed to win the game against the split American squad.

Also playing today were Sebastian Collberg and Jacob de la Rose for Sweden against another American group that featured Michael McCarron. Collberg was the standout among that group, setting up a goal, and even playing on the PK.

De La Rose also got good reviews yesterday, but McCarron drew some criticism for poor puck play. McCarron’s size and hustle did draw a penalty though.

It seems like Collberg and Lehkonen are absolute locks for Sweden and Finland, and it looks like De La Rose may be a lock as well. McCarron and Brady Vail will be in tough to make a deep American forward group, but either or both are major possibilities to make the team.

Another player to look forward to seeing is Charles Hudon for Team Canada, who started their summer camp yesterday as well and will practice today in Brossard before heading to Lake Placid to play against the squads that are already there.

Also a lock to see will be the diminutive Martin Reway, the point per game forward will be one of the go to forwards for Slovakia (He was born in the Czech Republic but is Slovakian).
