2024 World Junior Hockey Championship schedule: January 4, 2024

Relegation

5:00 AM ET: Norway vs Germany

Usually the relegation round was a best-of-three series to decide who stayed up and who was relegated but this year it was changed to be a single game. Germany will be bitterly disappointed to be in this game despite an historic win against Finland. Their loss to Latvia sealed their fate here, and they will have to be considered the heavy favourites. Norway has not been as competitive as their loss to the United States may have hinted at. The game will be on TSN 4 in Canada.

Semifinals

9:00 AM ET: Czechia vs Sweden

Sweden had a bit of a set back in their final round robin game against Finland, but they have been every bit of the tournament contenders that they were expected to be prior to the tournament starting. The hosts will look to guarantee themselves a medal with a win against the Czechs. Speaking of the Czechs, they upset Canada with a last second goal in a huge upset. They made the gold medal game last year, and it will be surprising to see them be able to do it again, but they are starting to play their best hockey now. The game will be on TSN 1/3/4/5 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

1:30 PM ET: Finland vs United States

After an overtime win against Slovakia, Finland has guaranteed themselves at least a shot at the bronze medal. They will be the underdogs against the United States, but are heading into this matchup with a ton of confidence. The United States has had a relatively easy tournament so far, and it will be interesting to see how they would face adversity if they indeed get to that point. The game will be on TSN 1/3/4/5 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN+ in Canada, but it requires a subscription.
