10:15 AM ET: Canada (1st, Pool A) vs Switzerland (4th, Pool B)
Canada will be without Anthony Mantha for this game as he was suspended after a hit in the final round robin game against the United States. Canada is on a six game winning streak after losing their opener to Finland en route to winning the group. Switzerland finished the round robin at 4-3, beating the four teams below them and losing to the three teams ahead of them.
The game will be shown on TSN 1,3,4 and RDS in Canada.
10:15 AM ET: Russia (1st, Pool B) vs United States (4th, Pool A)
Russia has been perfect this tournament, and has done it with a mix of offence (36 goals, good for third in the tournament) and a really stingy defence. Russia has allowed seven goals through the seven Round Robin games. No other team has allowed less than 11 goals. The United States had a 4-1-0-2 record, their regulation losses to Canada and Slovakia being the reason they finished in fourth spot.
The game will be shown on TSN 5 in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.
2:15 PM ET: Finland (2nd, Pool A) vs Sweden (3rd, Pool B)
The two huge European rivals go head to head and it is surprisingly Finland who is the higher ranked team. Finland could have finished first in the group but lost to Germany in their final round robin game. Sweden is coming off of a tough loss to Russia in their round robin finale and will look to bounce back. They have the most goals of any team in the tournament (41) but allowed 24, the most of the eight playoff teams.
The game will be on TSN 1, 4 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the USA.
2:15 PM ET: Czech Republic (2nd, Pool B) vs Germany (3rd, Pool A)
The Czech Republic has been a moderate surprise at this tournament, beating Sweden in their opening game and winning every game except for a loss to Russia. Germany also surprised, winning a game against Finland that saw them end with a 5-0-0-2 record and finishing ahead of the United States. Stopping Leon Draisaitl will be very important for the Czechs.
The game will be on TSN 5 in Canada.
