Zachary Fucale called-up, Dustin Tokarski sent back to the IceCaps

The Montreal Canadiens proceeded to swap goalies with the St. John’s IceCaps on Monday afternoon, by sending down Dustin Tokarski and calling up Zachary Fucale.

This move can be explained partially by the fact that Dustin Tokarski has not had a start in over a month, and Zachary Fucale is riding a hot streak after four consecutive starts for the IceCaps.

This past weekend Fucale started three games in three nights, going 1-0-2, stopping 100 of the 106 shots he faced, and posting a 0.942 SV%.

Tokarski has struggled so far this season, going 2-2-2 with a .891 SV% and a 3.45 GAA, and this move will allow him to get ready for NHL action with some desperately needed starts. Expect him to get the start when the IceCaps play in Albany on Wednesday.

This will be Fucale’s first stint with the Montreal Canadiens.
