The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenceman Zach Redmond to a two-year contract

The Montreal Candiens have signed former Colorado Avalanche defenceman Zach Redmond to a two-year contract,

The 27-year-old right-handed defenceman has put up 33 points in 114 career games, though only six point in 37 games last year.

This move is probably to add an NHL-calibre option to the AHL ranks, and have a viable option for a recall if an injury occurs. How Redmond fits into the organization isn’t immediately clear, but he’ll have a chance to show his skills versus the other candidates for NHL positions in September.
