Would you wear a Canadiens soccer kit?

Once in awhile, someone does stuff like this. They design another sport’s uniform/jersey/kit for an NHL team, or all 30 NHL teams. Some of them are good, some of them aren’t so nice. Icethetics, a site that almost exclusively covers hockey jersey design, took a crack at designing soccer kits for all 30 NHL teams. Specifically Matthew McElroy designed them. You can check out all 30 here [icethetics], but let’s go over the Habs one first.

Before you freak out about the barber pole, we all know that it just doesn’t work in hockey at all, but that design works pretty nicely in soccer for a few jerseys. The Bell advertisement isn’t cool in hockey culture, but it makes sense for a soccer jersey, and the CH is till there pretty prominently. The main home jersey isn’t too creative, but it doesn’t need to be, because the Habs nailed it in their jersey design decades ago.

For the barber pole side, I like the white sleeves breaking up the stripes, but the red side definitely appeals to me more. Are there any changes you would make to the design? And which of the 30 teams McElroy designed seems to transfer best to a soccer kit in your opinion?
