What Would You Give Up for a Top-2 Pick?

We don’t do rumors here at Habs EOTP, but we do sometimes make suggestions, and we welcome yours as well.

Florida Panthers GM Dale Tallon and Colorado Avalanche…uh….overlord?…Patrick Roy have indicated that they would be open to the idea of trading the second and first overall draft picks respectively to help the team now. Acquiring a Seth Jones or a Nathan MacKinnon would certainly be a tantalizing prospect for the Canadiens, but what would it take?

Presuming that Alex Galchenyuk and P.K. Subban are off limits (they are), what kind of package could the team put together?

Maybe the Avalanche or Panthers would be interested in a franchise goalie like Carey Price. This isn’t to say that we’re giving up on the chosen one, just that adequate goaltending can be found (Luongo, etc.) and top level offensive and defensive talent generally can’t.

Let us know your thoughts. What should GM Marc Bergevin offer?
