It’s a good thing the Canadiens now have depth, because it looks like it will be tested in the coming weeks.

Michael Bournival met with doctors yesterday regarding his concussion. Josh Gorges underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured left hand, and is expected to miss a month. And we still don’t really know what’s going on with Carey Price? He doesn’t exactly look ready to return.

George Stroumboulopoulos was officially introduced as the new host of Hockey Night in Canada yesterday. And it appears as though Ron MacLean will host Sportsnet’s Sunday hockey broadcast, which will be similar to ESPN College GameDay in the US.

The NHL GMs are currently meeting in Boca Raton to discuss possible rule changes for the league. Both Justin Bourne and JP Nikota have some suggestions for them.

Darryl Sutter had some awesome quotes yesterday about how the game is changing, and how actually “playing defense” is no longer as important as it once was. The game is about possession. You know, all that stuff analytics folk have been saying for years now. Great to see some coaches catching on.
