Bozon and Pasquale recalled by IceCaps, sign Blain to PTO

Following the injuries to Carey Price and Alexander Semin on Wednesday night, it was assumed that there would be some recalls from the AHL forthcoming on Thursday, so it wasn’t surprising that the St. John’s IceCaps proceeded to call-up Tim Bozon (LW) and Eddie Pasquale (G), and signed top line centre Luc-Olivier Blain(C) to a PTO, as reinforcements from the ECHL’s Brampton Beast.

This will be Eddie Pasquale’s second stint with the IceCaps, filling in admirably as back-up to Zachary Fucale when Dustin Tokarski was recalled to Montreal previously. He maintained a GAA of 2.99 and a 0.914 SV% in 160 minutes of game time, with a 1-1-1 record in the AHL thus far this season.

As for Tim Bozon, he will finally get to see some AHL action as he missed the majority of the season with a shoulder injury before being sent down to the ECHL to get back into game shape. In four games he managed one assist and was minus three.

In 13 games thus far this season in the ECHL, Luc-Olivier Blain has recorded four goals and four assists. He spent the last two seasons playing in the French league.

It would be interesting to note that the IceCaps have now drained the ECHL of all possible forward call-up after having four players available at one point this season. Only defenceman Travis Brown remains as an AHL contracted player down in the ECHL.

The IceCaps play on the road Friday night against the Rochester Americans.
