The Dispatch: Denmark’s coach Olaf Eller discusses Canadiens prospect Frederik Dichow

Olaf Eller joins The Dispatch’ to discuss the newest Montreal Canadiens goalie prosect, Denmark’s Frederik Dichow.

It’s a forthcoming Coach Eller who speaks about the strengths of the netminder, who will be one of the pillars of the Danish team that will fight to earn a promotion to the biggest stage in Junior hockey, the World Junior Championship contested among the 10 best nations in the world. The hope is that the club can get back to the IIHF’s Top Division and be in Edmonton and Red Deer for the 2021 event.

Mr. Eller speaks about the strengths of Dichow who draws a comparison to a current goalkeeper in Montreal. He also has some things to say about his son Lars’s time in Montreal.

When Eyes On The Prize reached out to the SHL’s Malmö Redhawks regarding Dichow’s contract situation, general manager Patrik Sylvegård replied. “His contract is for this year, but we are considering [Dichow] as a backup goalie in the SHL next year, but he has more to prove.”

Dichow has been a backup for Malmö in two games already this season and has impressed in the Swedish SuperElite (the under-20 league). This news is something that the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL, who selected him 41st overall in the 2019 CHL Import Draft, might not appreciate.
