Canadiens vs Lightning Game Six third period thread

The Canadiens could not register their first shot attempt of the 2nd period on Ben Bishop until 5:35 in. By then, Steven Stamkos had already increased the Canadiens’ deficit to 2 goals, after the Lightning put on an attack of 4 shots on 11 shot attempts before the Habs got their 1st shot of the period. Once the Lightning had a 2-goal lead, the Canadiens started to build their attack, racking up the next 6 shot attempts and 4 shots on net.

As the 2nd period progressed, the Lightning clamped down, clogging up the neutral zone in order to force neutral-zone turnovers. The Canadiens kept pressing, and with 3:55 left in the second Dale Weise drew a penalty behind the Lightning net. The Habs powerplay would be fruitless, giving up more chances than it created, and failing to convert proved critical as the Lightning would get a powerplay of their own and would score to give the Lightning a 3-0 lead.

The Canadiens have shown us a lot of character this year, and down 3-0 heading into the 3rd the task is at hand is incredible. It will take everything this team has to save their season.
